Osaka in Olympic spotlight, but biracial Japanese face struggles

It's heartening to see the media in Japan recognize famous athletes with Japanese and African roots like tennis player Naomi Osaka and NBA basketball player Rui Hachimura


For many young people with Japanese and African roots who are not famous there's still much work to be done in promoting acceptance and diversity in Japan.
