Kimonos and Cornrows - The English Version is Completed.

I'm pretty happy to share a significant milestone in my journey as author: the completion of the English version of my latest book, "Kimonos and Cornrows."

Even more exciting news—the Japanese and English version, including the translation, is on its way!

"Kimonos and Cornrows" is more than a book; it's a beautiful and important story that celebrates diversity and encourages children to embrace their unique identities.

This heartfelt tale follows a girl with African and Japanese heritage, who unfortunately, faces teasing at her school because of her skin color and hair. What's even more challenging is that her school prohibits her from wearing her hair in cornrows, an essential part of her African heritage, due to existing rules. Despite these obstacles, the story navigates the girl's journey, highlighting resilience and the power of embracing one's roots.

It's a narrative that resonates with the struggles many children with African roots face in Japan, emphasizing the importance of understanding, acceptance, and celebrating our diverse backgrounds.

Keep an eye on this space for more updates!

Best wishes
